The Basic Recruit Law Enforcement Training Program (Police Academy) at Northwest Florida State College must be completed before an individual is eligible for certification as an officer in the State of Florida. Curriculum for the programs is established by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC). The Law Enforcement Daytime Academy is two semesters, 8-5 pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Physical Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m. The Law Enforcement Nighttime Academy is three semesters, 6-10 p.m., Monday-Thursday and Saturday, 7:15-6:15 p.m.
