The following is a listing of Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council P.O.S.T. Certified Law Enforcement Academies in Georgia with address and contact phone numbers. In order to become a Law Enforcement Officer, whether it's a City Police Officer or a Deputy Sheriff working for the county, you will need to first complete a P.O.S.T. certified basic recruit police training program commonly referred to as a police academy. These police training programs are also called "basic recruit training programs" or "Law Enforcement Basic" and contain a standardized curriculum set forth by the Georgia P.O.S.T. Council of Certified Academies.
